The majority of our staff live within the Mount Cook village and a small number live in Twizel (transport to and from the hotel is provided).

The style of staff accommodation varies. In the first instance you do not get to choose where you live, it is allocated before you arrive and you have an option to apply to change once you are here.

Most of the staff who join us for their first season are housed in large blocks.  Each single room has a single bed, set of drawers, wardrobe and hand basin.  You do not have to share a room and your room is lockable.  Toilets and showers are unisex as we do not separate male and female staff into separate blocks.

Double rooms are available for couples and for those working in more senior positions. We have a limited number of 'motel' style accommodation which have cooking facilities and a private bathroom. These units are allocated to Supervisors and above.

If you are considering joining our Housekeeping Department your staff accommodation will be in Twizel. Twizel is approximately 63 kms from Mount Cook Village. You get your own bedroom in a multi-share household at reasonable cost. We also provide free staff transport to and from Mount Cook, meals at work and your uniform.
